thanksgiving in málaga

Thanksgiving is one of our favorite traditions and holidays back home in the US and this was one of the first years in our lives we found ourselves abroad for this special day. While it is not a tradition or holiday in Spain, we were fortunate to join forces with our dear local friends Eric (fellow "guiri" from the US) and Eli (Malagueña who has come to love Thanksgiving turkey, trimmings, and pumpkin pie!). Eli and Eric have been hosting a Thanksgiving feast with extended family and friends for 18 years in a row and we had the honor of attending and bringing butternut squash and stuffing for the occasion. It was so wonderful to share with family and we felt very much at home.

El Día de Acción de Gracias es una de nuestras tradiciones favoritas en los Estados Unidos y este fue uno de los primeros años en nuestras vidas en que nos encontramos en el extranjero para este día tan especial. Si bien no es una tradición ni un día festivo en España, tuvimos la suerte de unir fuerzas con nuestros queridos amigos locales Eric (otro "guiri" de los Estados Unidos) y Eli (Malagueña que ya adora el pavo y el pastel de calabaza). Eli y Eric han sido anfitriones de una fiesta de Acción de Gracias con familiares y amigos durante 18 años consecutivos y tuvimos el honor de asistir y traer calabaza y relleno para la ocasión. Fue maravilloso compartir con la familia y nos sentimos como en casa.
